The Dodam

Dodam: growing up sound and steady

A 1929 Art Deco tower on Wilshire, restored in 2024 and rebuilt inside to the Korean Standard.

The Dodam went up in 1929 in cream terracotta with a stepped crown, one of the first apartment towers on Wilshire. We spent two years restoring it: the terracotta was cleaned and repaired piece by piece, the bronze windows were rebuilt, and the structure was retrofitted. Inside, every home was rebuilt to the Korean Standard behind the original ceiling heights.
